We are working locally with Anchor Staying Put to offer a Small Repairs service for jobs taking less than 2 hours to complete. It is often difficult and expensive to call someone out for small jobs like fitting a plug, fixing a tap or changing a light bulb
The type of work undertaken includes:
* Fitting locks and security chains
* Minor joinery work
* Minor plumbing repairs
* Minor electrical work
* Repair and adjustment to doors and windows
Cost
There is no charge for labour, although people may wish to make a donation. Clients only pay for materials, and the cost is agreed before work begins.

The Befriending Officer visited a prospective client in her home. During their chat it transpired that when a family member called, the lady would not always get to the door in time due to her poor mobility, and her visitor would go away. A referral was made to the Small Repairs service for a key safe to be fitted. The client has given the combination number to her relatives and one friend so that they can let themselves in. She no longer has to struggle to answer the door and sees a lot more people.
