Mission, aims & principles
Age Concern Isle of Wight aims to:
- Promote positive attitudes towards older people and ageing
- Influence and develop public policies that affect older people
- Promote effective care and services for older people, to promote independence and improved quality of life.
- Encourage choice and opportunity for older people.
We achieve this by:
- Providing services for older people, their families and carers
- Campaigning and influencing public opinion about ageing and older people
- Planning strategy with partners in the public, private, voluntary and community sectors on service delivery and ageing issues
- Working together as Age Concern organisations and groups to benefit both the local and wider regional communities
- Enabling older people to be involved with their communities in a meaningful and positive way.
